Traveling, as many people would agree, is the truest test of friendship. Being friends with someone is one thing, but traveling with them? An entirely different story. Traveling with someone really boils your friendship down to the bare bones of how similar you really are: in life, in ideals, in culture. Many people are not […]
Eight things to remember when everything goes wrong.
Happiness is not the absence of problems, but the ability to deal with them. Imagine all the wondrous things your mind might embrace if it weren’t wrapped so tightly around your struggles. Always look at what you have, instead of what you have lost. Because it’s not what the world takes away from you that counts; it’s what you do with what you have left.
Sometimes life closes doors because it’s time to move forward. And that’s a good thing because we often won’t move unless circumstances force us to. When times are tough, remind yourself that no pain comes without a purpose.
💢2. Everything in life is temporary.
After darkness there is always light – you are reminded of this every morning, but still you often forget, and instead choose to believe that the night will last forever. It won’t. Nothing lasts forever. So if things are good right now, enjoy it. It won’t last forever. If things are bad, don’t worry because it won’t last forever either.
💢3. Worrying and complaining changes nothing.
Those who complain the most, accomplish the least. It’s always better to attempt to do something great and fail than to attempt to do nothing and succeed.
💢4. Your scars are symbols of your strength.
Don’t ever be ashamed of the scars life has left you with. A scar means the hurt is over and the wound is closed. It means you conquered the pain, learned a lesson, grew stronger, and moved forward.
💢5. Every little struggle is a step forward.
In life, patience is not about waiting; it’s the ability to keep a good attitude while working hard on your dreams, knowing that the work is worth it. So if you’re going to try, put in the time and go all the way. Otherwise, there’s no point in starting.
💢6. Other people’s negativity is not your problem.
Be positive when negativity surrounds you. Smile when others try to bring you down. It’s an easy way to maintain your enthusiasm and focus. When other people treat you poorly, keep being you. Don’t ever let someone else’s bitterness change the person you are.
💢 7. What’s meant to be will eventually, BE.
You can’t force things to happen. You can only drive yourself crazy trying. At some point you have to let go and let what’s meant to be, BE. In the end, loving your life is about trusting your intuition, taking chances, losing and finding happiness, cherishing the memories, and learning through experience. It’s a long-term journey.
💢 8. The best thing you can do is to keep going.
Don’t be afraid to get back up. Don’t be afraid to love again. Don’t let the cracks in your heart turn to hardened scar tissue. Find the strength to laugh every day. Find the courage to feel different, yet beautiful. Find it in your heart to make others smile too.
- God bless you all!
Have a blessed week ahead.
Most of us would agree that the days spent in school are / were certainly the best days of our lives .
Back when I was at school, I remember hating the daily chore of completing assingments, studying for tests, assignments, and waking up early 😣 However, when I look back today, I find that the most memorable days of my life were my school days.
Despite the flaws, high schools are special places where your best teenage memories reside. You’d remember meeting your best childhood friend at school. You’d remember the funniest episodes that happened during class. Your teachers are a fountain of inspiration and they can offer the best guidance for your academic pursuits. You’d remember the first time you presented in a class, participated in games, or had an embarrassing moment at school. You can never forget your first crush, your first date, and your first trip at school. Growing up with your friends give you the best memories of life. The droning classes, the fun & struggle in the dinning hall, the long lines just for you to be served..GOSH 😓Survival to the fittest 💪.The mischief and pranks, and the companionship of friends, these memories make school a very special place. If you thought that school only imparts knowledge, think again.
Whether we like it or not, we are all like to be connected to our teenage years in some way. High school friends bring that connection. Your high school friends will always remain lifelong friends and here are some reasons why.
1. You grew up together
In high school you pretty much grew up with your friends. You all went to the same classess, walked down the same dinning hall, listened to the same kind of music, and got used to each other as you grew up in the strong social environment high school presented to you.
2. They are a place to return to
Your high school friends offer you a place to return to no matter how much time or distance separates you. With your high school friends you can always return back home to laugh about the dumb things that you did.😂
Somehow they were comfortable around you, whether you ate so much or not.😜
4.They offer you a sense of hometown pride
They are the only ones who can take you through that feeling that your hometown will always be special. Whether your hometown is noteworthy or not they will relive its glory and pleasant memories with you any day, anytime.HOME SWEET HOME 🏡
5.They offer the best reunions
When you reconnect with a high school friend it is like nothing has ever changed. It could be the “group” you belonged to,With your high school friends you get back into the swing of things in a millisecond.
6. You had enough time to build your friendship
7. They offer grounding
Your high school friends offer you a unique element, elements that defined you as you grew up. Even when you are lost in a new environment, they are the ones who still remain unforgettable in your heart.
8. You identified with their families
Since you spent so much time with your high school friends, getting to know their parents was inevitable. You knew their families in such a way that they seemed to be an extension of your own.
9.You took special photos together
Photos with your high school friends remind you of exuberance and enthusiasm. All the long, posed photobooth sessions gave you some of your best profile pictures.
10.They understand you just by your body expressions
Your high school friends don’t require you to say it all before they get the message. You can communicate very well with just facial expressions.
11.They are the only ones who can tell you how the story turned out for your former classmates
12.They can share all of the inside jokes with you
The inside jokes you shared amidst your friend circle still remain funny 😂😂😂 no matter the passage of time. Even new friends cannot be able to relate with this. It is like a code of honor between you and your high school friends.
13.You had your fair share of dramas and fights
There were times you didn’t talk to each other because of something incredibly stupid. But you were able to patch things up and make your relationship stronger than before.
14.You made promises to each other
Yes as much as they were right there to support you through the toughest days of your life, you promised each other that you will stick with each other through future memorable events, like your wedding or your birthday
15.You kept some of each other’s stuff
Yes you didn’t just grow apart with time; you also took something from each other and kept it with you. It may be your friend’s clothes, some books, a pen,a Sunglass or even a note.
16.You survived the toughest period of teenage years with them
All those awkward years of raging hormones and trying to find a solution to a difficult mathematics problem is enough to tie you together like a blood pact. Somehow your high school friends helped you survive through that period.
They know the nicknames you were called in high school 🙈🙊🙉 and how awful those embarrassing moments in high school made you feel.:| They still have some evidence and can pull them out at any given moment to remind you how stupid you were, and laugh with you :D. They know you 🙂
As we all head back to our Universities, I cannot help but feel old. Has it already been three whole years since we graduated from high school? Looking back it seems like yesterday that we all graduated and were nervously preparing for the biggest change in our lives: University. I cannot tell you how thankful I am for the fact that we all stay in touch. I do not know what I would do without our whtapp group, messages to keep me sane on the days when I need a break from class.
I could not imagine life without all of you. I am who I am because of you all. I learned how to be a caring friend during the hard times when we needed each other to pick ourselves up. I learned how to laugh at myself from the silly mistakes i used to make and you all had my back. I learned how to conquer my fear when we all passed.I learned how to be a loyal friend when we traveled to each other’s games or competitions to watch and support each other. And I learned how true our friendship was when we could still meet and hangout during the Holidays.
I have carried these lessons with me through Campus and while I have made new friends I will always treasure our friendship. I often hear people talk about how they never talk to their high school friends, but I cannot imagine that. You all impacted my life so much, there is no way I could forget you all.
Ever since I moved to Nairobi I cannot help but be jealous as I hear about your reunions during the holidays while am not there sometimes. But I know even though I see you all less that does not mean our friendship is any less.I will never forget you all and I will forever keep our memories of high school in a special place in my heart.
As we all move on with our lives and leave high school behind, I can only wish the best of luck to you all. I cannot wait to see where life takes us. The future is scary but knowing I will always have our friendship makes the future seem a lot less intimidating. I miss you all terribly, but I will see you all over the Holiday.
I want you all to know how happy I am to see you ALL doing well. I check up on you often (☺the wonders of social media ☺)
Yes..they might be gone but not forgotten.Their life cycle might be over yet their memories still linger with us :)(Abubakar Saary & Abdulrauf) we all know they good they were as individuals. All we can do is praying for them ☺.May their souls R.I.P
Sorry, for all the times I may have unknowingly hurt your feelings and caused you pain.
